How to choose a kitchen set?

The kitchen set has several parts:

Cabinet doors, front frame and shelves. Let's analyze what material is best for the kitchen?

4 main materials:

1. Solid wood

2. Particleboard

3. MDF or HDF

4. Multiplex

Solid wood is the most expensive and delicate material.

It is made of solid wood and is therefore relatively soft, that is, it is easily scratched. It is often used completely ineptly, especially in the classic style, where MDF would look exactly the same, but at the same time, it is cheaper and more durable. It can look really cool in modern styles like the loft.

Particleboard is a board, consisting essentially of glued and pressed wood chips. Cheap and durable material, but afraid of temperature and moisture. In the kitchen, it is used for the frame of cabinets or facades. Although it is too fragile for facades, it is cheap.

MDF boards are created by pressing small wood chips, almost sawdust. Then they are impregnated with a special resin, which makes the material durable and waterproof. Thanks to this, MDF is stronger than chipboard and solid wood, is not afraid of moisture, is several times less toxic than particleboard, but it also costs more than particleboard (but less solid wood).

The multiplex is made of natural wood, but cheaper than solid wood. The production technology consists in gluing thin layers of wood. To create a high-quality slab, up to 5 wood planks with a thickness of 4 mm are used. It is an environmentally friendly material that is resistant to steam, moisture and temperature extremes.
